Cool lunch spots in Amsterdam

There is an endless amount of cool lunch spots in Amsterdam and it seems like new places are popping up every day. It’s my personal mission to try every single one of them so I can recommend the best spots to you guys! Oh the sacrifices I make;) Here’s a list of some of my favorite lunch spots in Amsterdam. Whenever I come across a new worthy lunch spot I’ll add it to the list.

Dignita-Hoftuin

Besides the fact that the spot is beautiful, the food is absolutely amazing. I love love love the Zucchini & chickpea fritter and the hot smoked salmon royale. Just thinking about it makes we want to go there again. I would advice making a reservation, because it is usually quite busy. This is the ideal place for a long lazy brunch.

Even though Hoftuin is my favorite location, they also have a location near Vondelpark and the food is just as good!

Little Collins

A quaint brunch spot with a simple menu and fresh ingredients. It’s a small little place, so come in time for Brunch, especially on Sundays. Definitely try the coffees!

Greenwoods

It’s not easy to find quality brunch places in the center. That might be why Greenwoods is always packed! They have options for both vegetarians and meat eaters and everything tastes lovely. The only downside of this place is that you may have to wait a while to get a spot.

Benji’s

Lovely peaceful place where you can go for a great coffee and breakfast. Delicious scones, sandwiches and super friendly service. One of my favorite brunch spots in West Amsterdam.

Ceintuur Theater

I recently tried Ceintuur Theater for the first time and was not disappointed. I do recommend ordering from the breakfast menu which is possible until 1 pm. Breakfast food is just so much better than a sandwich. We went for the full CT breakfast, because we wanted to try both the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and the pancakes. If you go here I would advice getting the avocado toast with scrambled eggs.

Pluk

This cute little place can be found in the heart of Amsterdam. It is located in picturesque neighborhood the ‘negen straatjes’  or ‘nine streets’. This area is famous for it’s cute boutiques, vintage stores and cosy cafés. Pop in for lunch or just for some cake and coffee.

Bakers & Roasters

I was about to describe it as an Australian style brunch place.  Then I saw the description on their website calling it a ‘New Zealand style cafe served with a heavy dose of Brazil.’ You’ll find your favorite brunch dishes, delicious juices and great coffee. They are a little on the pricey side, but offer good portions and quality food.

Bakkerij Mater

This its not really a sit down lunch type of place. It’s a bakery and I mainly come here for the best cinnamon bun in Amsterdam. They also serve one of the best croissants I’ve ever had and if you’re feeling hungry you can order a sandwich as well. Everything is made with sourdough, yes also the croissants!

Local Deli

Looking for something, quick, easy and not to expensive? Get a sandwich from this little shop. It’s nothing fancy, but their sandwiches are incredibly tasty! My personal favorite is the caponata.
