Hello everyone! My name is Romy. I’m a twenty-something travel blogger, Africa enthusiast and adventurer at heart. I’ve always had big dreams, but as a student I have
no money a modest budget. I want to show everyone that you can always find a way to do what you love. I started this website as a way to document my travels, but also to help you make your travel dreams come true. For some time I felt my life had gotten stuck in Routine. I no longer felt alive. And when that’s the case, you know something has to change. That’s why I decided to spread out my classes a little more and make time to travel. I fell in love with traveling when my mom took me to South-Africa for the first time. Africa is still my favorite continent, but I plan on exploring every corner of the world.
What are my plans?
I plan on traveling as much as possible. For me travel is about connection, adventure and finding beauty in unexpected places. In the beginning of 2017 I explored South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Then in the summer I visited Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala. Now
I’m in big trouble I need to take some time to write my thesis, but I’m planning lots of trips as well. I hope to finally graduate this year and then travel indefinitely. It is taking me a lot longer to graduate then planned, but I do not regret any of my trips. Make sure you live by your own standards and not those of society. Do what feels right to you!
What can you expect from Brunette at Sunset?
You can expect an honest opinion about every place I visit. Travel is mostly wonderful, but I won’t sugarcoat when it isn’t. I’m not the perfect traveler fitgirl that shares perfect the photos, I hope to give you real advice that will help you plan your dream trip! So expect budget guides, travel routes and inside tips as well.
Also, I like to think of myself as quite the dare devil. I may not look like it, but I love stuff like bungee jumping, swimming with sharks and would love to try skydiving. Finding the most beautiful places on earth to do these kind of things is what I live for. I’m in love with Africa, so you’ll see loads of tips about my favorite continent.
