Have a drink in the bay

One of the most relaxing ways to experience Villefranche-sur-Mer is by having a drink at one of the waterfront cafés or bars along the bay. Whether you choose a local wine or a refreshing cocktail, sitting by the water with a view of the gently bobbing boats and colorful houses is pure bliss.

St. Pierre Chapel

The St. Pierre Chapel, or Chapelle Saint-Pierre, is one of Villefranche-sur-Mer’s treasures. Located right by the harbor, this small chapel appears unassuming from the outside. However inside, it holds a fascinating piece of art history. In 1957, the renowned French artist Jean Cocteau, decorated the interior with vibrant, whimsical frescoes. The frescoes pay tribute to the life of St. Peter and local fishermen. The chapel’s intimate size and stunning artwork make it a must-visit for anyone interested in art, history, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty of Villefranche.
