Why take my recommendations?
Hi, I’m Romy. A travel blogger and photographer with a tendency to research trips a little… excessively.
Before traveling somewhere, I’ll have dozens of tabs open, hundreds of Google Maps pins saved. Sulawesi was no exception, but since it’s not your typical tourist destination, planning it works a little differently. A lot of stuff I had to figure out while I was there.
I travelled through the island, covering Tangkoko, Bunaken, Tomohon, Luwuk, Banggai, Togean Islands, Tentena, Toraja, Rammang Rammang & Makassar. All the while researching where to go, figuring out transport, trying different places to stay and eat, and saving everything worth remembering along the way.
And I realised pretty quickly that planning Sulawesi is much harder than travelling it. There is some fantastic information online, but it’s scattered everywhere. So I turned all of my research and experience into the resource I wish I’d had myself. Including phone numbers of drivers, guides and prices of all the transportion.
I’m also picky about what makes it onto my maps. A place isn’t included simply because it’s popular on Instagram. I look for beautiful places, memorable experiences, good food and things I’d genuinely recommend to a friend.
